How to read this page
The ranking above is built from our own hands-on tests, not from vendor claims. We sign up, pay where we have to, ask for specific photos and clips, and write down what actually arrives: does the picture match the prompt, does the face stay the same, does the video move, does it have sound, and how many credits did it eat.
The topic score is the average of two things we measure in those tests: images and videos, each on a scale from 0 to 5. An app needs at least one of the two measured to show up in the ranking. If an app only makes pictures, its topic score is its image result alone, so read the two columns side by side before you decide.
One honest caveat. So far, the apps we have fully tested are companion apps that also generate images and video: you chat with a character, and she sends you photos and short clips. Pure generators are a different kind of tool: you type a prompt and get a picture with no chat around it. Think of Promptchan, Pornworks, PornX, Porn AI, Seduced or Playbox. We have not put pure generators through our test yet. Until a generator has been through the same test as the companion apps, it appears in the comparison with a first estimate, clearly marked. Treat an estimate as a starting point, not a verdict.

"AI porn generator" covers two quite different products. People searching for an AI porn maker often mean a prompt box that spits out pictures. People searching for an AI sex video generator often end up in a companion app, because that is where most of the short clips are made today. Knowing which one you want saves you money.

How AI porn generators work
Almost every NSFW AI generator here runs on diffusion models, the family behind Stable Diffusion and Flux. The model starts from random noise and removes it step by step, guided by a text encoder that ties your words to visual patterns. What comes out is a new image that fits your description, not a copy of an existing photo.
The models learn those patterns from very large training sets: photographs, artistic nudes, illustrations and erotic artwork. Which images went in, and whether their creators agreed, is one of the open legal fights around this technology, more on that below.
From prompt to picture
A prompt is a description: "a red-haired woman in soft candlelight, silk robe slipping off one shoulder, film grain". The app turns it into tokens, uses them to steer the denoising, and returns an image in seconds to about a minute on a hosted service. Most of the explicit capability comes from extensions on top of a base model:
- Checkpoints: fully fine-tuned versions of a base model, trained for realism, anime or a particular look.
- LoRAs: small add-ons that teach a model a style, a body type, an outfit or a specific character without retraining it.
- Inpainting: repaint one area of an image, for example swap a dress for lingerie, and leave the rest untouched.
- ControlNet and pose guides: fix a pose, depth map or composition so the model follows it instead of guessing.
From picture to clip
Video works the same way across time. Most apps we tested do image-to-video: you get a photo first and then "animate" it into a short clip. Others go text-to-video directly. Motion models, voice synthesis and lip sync are being bolted on, but so far the result in our tests is usually a short loop rather than a scene. Images vs. video: what our tests actually showed
The marketing pages promise "hyper-real" everything. What we saw is more mixed, and the gap between images and video is large.
Images: quality is easy, following your request is not
Good-looking AI porn pictures are the norm now. The real differences are prompt fidelity and consistency, and three things decide them. First, whether you can steer at all: some apps give you a prompt field or let you describe the scene in the chat, others only offer a camera button that picks the scene for you, which gets you pretty pictures you did not really ask for. Second, whether the details survive: place, pose, clothing and props are the first things to drift between request and result, even when the image itself looks great. Third, whether the face holds: a character who still looks like herself after twenty photos is harder to build than it sounds, and some apps follow the pose nicely while the face wanders away from the profile.
Watch for where the pictures live, too. Some apps send photos right in the chat, some put the better generator in a separate studio, and some keep chat media behind a relationship level or a higher plan, so the first photo can take a while to arrive. Video: short, often silent, and the expensive part
Video is where the marketing and the result drift furthest apart. Most clips are a few seconds long, closer to a moving photo than a scene, and many arrive without sound. Some apps make video right in the chat; others put it in a separate studio or a photo-to-clip tool, where you pick a picture first and then wait a minute or two for it to move. Motion is the other weak spot: some clips barely move at all, others wander away from the scene you asked for.
Not every app makes video at all. Some companion apps work with creator albums instead of a generator, some offer images only on higher tiers, and some keep video for their upper plans. That is why the ranking shows not offered separately from a low result: an app that makes no clips is not a bad video generator, it is simply not one. What it costs: credits, tokens, coins and gems
Almost every app sells a subscription and then a second currency on top: credits, tokens, coins, gems, chips, or a name of its own. That second currency is where the bill grows, because video costs many times what a photo does, and some characters send locked media on their own initiative and charge you to open it.
The mechanics are nearly always the same. Your plan includes a monthly allowance of that currency, and every photo, clip, voice note or unblur draws from it. A rule of thumb: if video is the reason you are here, compare the price of one clip, not the monthly fee. A cheap plan with expensive clips can cost more than a pricier plan that includes generous credits.

The alternative is a local setup: open-source models such as Stable Diffusion run on your own computer through interfaces like ComfyUI or Automatic1111, with no account and nothing leaving your machine. You trade convenience for control. It needs a capable graphics card, some patience with settings, and you are responsible for what you load into it. The flip side: desire, habit and bias
